Set off to do Mt Field West. Map here. Previous post here. Wrong day. Got to the top of the Rodway Range, but there was no end to the fog, and the rain that started to fall made it clear that there was a fair bit more cloud above me. Cold wind too, so I turned around and wandered elsewhere. Pity, because Mt Field West is a great walk, marred only by the view of the Florentine Valley from the top, and sometimes by the sound of forestry operations. Anyway, it was a good walk, and it was interesting to see the place in this mood.
