This new walk was touted in the paper the other day (and in this media release) with a decidedly uncomfortable-looking Premier starting out across a new suspension bridge. The walk follows the track from the Airwalk buildings out towards the old Picton River crossing. A little way up the Picton river, there's a new suspension bridge which crosses onto the spit between the Picton and Huon Rivers. A little upstream a longer suspension bridge crosses the Huon. The track then continues on around to the Airwalk. Isaac and I did it, and had a great time checking out the new tracks and construction and taking photos. It's a good tourist attraction, but it's also true that most of the forests nearby have been cut, and really we'd probably be better off if they hadn't.
